Our Story

Hello there!

I’m Sakshi Tinkar, founder of Naviksh Collections, and I’d love to share the story behind this brand — a story that began long before Naviksh Collections had a name.

I was born and brought up in Jaipur, Rajasthan, a city where art, colours, textiles and craftsmanship are a part of everyday life. I completed my education in Jaipur, but from a very young age, I found myself naturally drawn towards art and designing.

As a child, I loved making things beautiful. I would draw and paint on walls, decorate my room with colours, and constantly experiment with different creative ideas. I was also very fond of Mehndi and loved creating different Mehndi designs on the hands of married women in my family.

As I grew older, this love for creativity slowly found its way into clothing. Instead of simply wearing what was available, I started imagining and wearing garments based on my own ideas and designs. I enjoyed experimenting with fabrics, colours, patterns and combinations that felt different and personal.

And somewhere along this journey, I developed an even deeper appreciation for one of India’s most beautiful and timeless garments — the saree.

A Saree Is More Than Just Six Yards of Fabric

For me, a saree is not simply something we wear.

It carries tradition, craftsmanship, memories and identity.

From the vibrant prints of Rajasthan and delicate hand-block patterns to beautiful weaves created in different parts of India, every saree can tell a story about the people and places behind it.

For generations, sarees have been passed from mothers to daughters, worn at weddings and festivals, and preserved as memories of special moments. The beauty of a saree is also in its versatility — the same six yards can look completely different depending on its fabric, drape, colours and the personality of the woman wearing it.

But as our lifestyles have changed, our relationship with traditional Indian clothing has changed too.

Modern education, global fashion and corporate work culture have made Western clothing an everyday choice for many young women. There is absolutely nothing wrong with embracing modern fashion. But I believe modernity and tradition do not have to compete with each other.

We can move forward without leaving our roots behind.

I have met young women who admire a beautiful saree but hesitate to wear one because they feel it is difficult to drape, too traditional, or simply don’t know how to wear it.

That always makes me think: if the next generation stops experiencing our traditional clothing, slowly we may also lose some of the stories, skills and cultural connections that come with it.

Why I started Naviksh Collections

I wanted to create a brand that could bring traditional Indian aesthetics into today’s lifestyle in a way that feels beautiful, comfortable, fresh and relevant.

Through Naviksh Collections, I want to inspire more young women to explore Indian clothing — not because they have to wear it, but because they genuinely want to.

I want them to discover that a saree can be traditional and contemporary at the same time. It can be graceful at a family celebration, elegant at an office event, stylish at a dinner, and beautiful even when worn simply for yourself.

My dream is to offer unique designs, beautiful fabrics, thoughtful colour combinations and different varieties that help women find something that reflects their own personality.

And this philosophy goes beyond sarees.

Through our collections of bedsheets and home textiles, I also want to bring the colours, patterns and artistic spirit of India into people’s homes. My childhood love for decorating spaces with colours has, in many ways, come full circle.

Naviksh Collections is therefore not just about selling products.

It is my way of contributing, however small, towards keeping our Indian art, textiles, craftsmanship and cultural beauty alive and relevant for a new generation.

I want Naviksh to become a bridge between tradition and today’s lifestyle — where our roots inspire new designs, where Indian craftsmanship feels contemporary, and where younger generations feel proud to make Indian textiles a part of their everyday lives.

This is only the beginning of our journey.

With every design we create and every collection we introduce, I hope to share a little piece of the India I grew up loving — colourful, artistic, expressive and timeless.

Welcome to Naviksh Collections.

Rooted in India. Designed for Today. Made to Be Cherished.
